Police in Hong Kong have seized a store of “dangerous” supplies.

Police in Hong Kong have arrested a group of three purported criminals, stating that the trio were attempting to spark either a war or a revolution. Rather than publish a manifesto or offer rule-breaking posts on Reddit, however, the men adopted a less-direct approach, using the time-honored method of distributing M&Ms to prisoners.

According to a spokesperson, the candies are a much-desired luxury behind bars, being used to garner both power and respect. By judiciously allotting them, the alleged provocateurs reportedly intended to “canvas followers” and “establish a sphere of influence.”

Other dangerous contraband seized in the raid included crackers, baby powder, and hair clips… suggesting that either 7-11 is a one-stop shop for revolutionaries, or MacGyver is currently an inmate.

Still, what does this mean for the viewer at home? Could you be bribed by a sufficient quantity of M&Ms? How many would it take to make you a revolutionary? Do they taste a bit different now than when you were a kid? Let us know in the comments, and remember, if you’ve spotted a story that’s silly, strange, stupid, or just a bit absurd, be sure to let us know… and yes, that is a real email address.

For the moment, cold cops confiscate candy, curtailing counterculturists’ cunning caper.
